Leandro Marziotte won the first prize at the International Händel Competition in Göttingen. He has been also finalist at the First International Countertenor Competition in Lugano.

He holds four diplomas, a Master in Baroque Singing “cum laude” from the Royal Conservatory of The Hague, a Bachelor in Singing “summa cum laude” from the Conservatory of Strasbourg, as well as a Superior Diploma in Singing and a specialisation in Contemporary music.

He has performed in different opera productions as Gluck’s ‘Orfeo ed Euridice’ (Orfeo); Händel’s ‘Serse’ (Arsamene), ‘Orlando’ (Orlando), ‘Agrippina’ (Ottone), ‘Jephtha’ (Hamor), ‘Brockes Passion’ (Judas), ‘Deborah’ (Barak), ‘Rodrigo’ (Fernando); Purcell’s ‘Dido and Aeneas’ (Sorceress and Spirit); Monteverdi’s ‘Orfeo’ (Pastore and Speranza); Britten’s ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ (Oberon); with ensembles such as: ’Cappella Mediterranea’ (Leonardo García Alarcon), ‘Le Poème Harmonique‘ (Vincent Dumestre), ‘Ricercar Consort’ (Philippe Pierlot), ’Stuttgarter Barockorchester’ (Jörg Halubek), ‘Radio Antiqua’ and the Ensemble Caprice‘ (Matthias Maute) from Canada.

He has recorded for SONY Music and Harmonia Mundi an album of Bach cantatas with the ensemble ‘Musicus Köln’ conducted by Christoph Spering. He made the world’s first recording of the title role of Heinichen’s opera ‘Flavio Crispo’ with ‘Il Gusto Barocco’. With the Arcana label, he recorded in Italy a CD of previously unpublished Neapolitan baroque cantatas for countertenor. He can be found in other important recordings such as in the opera ‘Rodrigo’ by Handel, conducted by Laurence Cummings.

He has ventured into composition by setting to music poems by three Latin American women writers from Uruguay, Argentina and Chile: Juana de Ibarbourou, Alfonsina Storni and Gabriela Mistral. The album is called “Las Musas de América”.

He has sung in several important theatres throughout Europe such as Teatro Real in Madrid, Auditori of Barcelona, Maison de la Radio in Paris, Chappelle Royale in Versailles, Bozar in Brussels, Victoria Hall in Geneva, Opéra National du Rhin, Opéra de Nancy, Opéra de Liège, Philharmonie in Köln, Bach Festival in Leipzig, Händel Festivals in Halle and Göttingen; as well as in renowned theatres in the rest of the world, such as the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, Teatro Municipal de Rio de Janeiro, Sala São Paulo, Teatro Solis in Montevideo, Palacio de Bellas Artes in Mexico City, Teatro Mario Laserna in Bogotá, Pushkin Palace in St. Petersburg and at the Maison Symphonique in Montréal.
